Integrating macroeconomics and economic geography: the neoclassical growth model in spatial general equilibrium

چکیده

The neoclassical growth model and the Roback of spatial general equilibrium (SGE) are integrated to study joint determination macroeconomic phenomena (gross domestic product (GDP) rate interest) economic (the distribution gross regional (GRP), employment capital). If internal capital mobility is perfect savings rates homogeneous, GDP depends on SGE, but SGE does not depend GDP. saving spatially heterogeneous, interest in addition imperfectly mobile, outcomes such as GDP, jointly determined. In general, therefore, dichotomy between macroeconomics geography breaks down.

The Effect of Climate Change on Economic Growth (Dynamic Computable General Equilibrium Model Approach in Iran)

Intermediate Macroeconomics: The Neoclassical Business Cycle Model

We previously studied equilibrium in a particularly simple world – an endowment economy. This was useful for getting intuition about what determined the real interest rate, but lacked realism. In this section we endogenize supply. The concept of equilibrium is identical to before, but the set up is more interesting. Now we have firms that produce output using capital and labor, and households t...

Neoclassical Models in Macroeconomics∗

This chapter develops a toolkit of neoclassical macroeconomic models, and applies these models to the U.S. economy from 1929 through 2014. We argue that this empirical feature is naturally addressed within neoclas...

Our model is based on three core theories in economics Walrasian general equilibrium theory, Ricardian theory of distribution, and neoclassical growth theory. The paper is focused on effects of changes in det...
